A warning to all who reflexively cheer to lend encouragement

I have bad news for you.

The New Message Wiki needs deep evaluation.

Expressions of enthusiasm for the wiki we have are ill-advised, unaware that the wiki has many needs that are going unmet, which could benefit from engagement of another kind from those who rely on it the most. Here are questions for deep evaluation of the wiki. We must ask:

Is it the wiki that Marshall needs? To communicate the New Message perspective at a glance, with newcomers in mind, is the highest and best use of the wiki at newmessage.org

Is it translateable? The answer again indicates the wiki needs a haircut.

On the wiki, are we engaging in spiritual bypass or "cherrypicking scripture"? Keep asking as you go.

Those who find the wiki a valued resource do show gratitude as a "go-to" response just as the wiki is a "go-to" site for topical quotes. I do take responsibility for setting the terms of engagement on the wiki and now, in the face of specific needs, I cannot welcome enthusiastic satisfaction for the wiki as it now exists.

Blessing

The blessing is in the way we can change our perceptions of the wiki and see it as NM wiki 1.0, an early and modest introduction to the New Message. Another blessing is that nothing needs to be done with any urgency except to change our perceptions about the wiki in order to see the answer in the first question, what does the Messenger need from the wiki. I see how the best and highest use of the New Message wiki would be to replicate and proliferate the content (the trimmings from the "haircut") on sites that students can easily and cheaply set up and maintain with small, frequent actions that

will integrate all studenthood notes

support the reformation of the NM through a "top down" build based on Steps to Knowledge

see how we can attain a page on Wikipedia with a collective effort with a "roll call" of sites. Understand why we can't get recognized as a movement without something to show some kind of verifiable activity.

Opportunity

I see a great opportunity here as soon as I realize, a greater gift than the wiki (that's just reached its capacity as the work of one person) would be to replicate in others "how to wiki" as a way of managing our experience with the New Message, in daily habits of checking in with our experience, journaling the Steps, saving quotes of particular interest or often needed and most importantly while the Messenger lives, to echo his calling to those who can hear his words.
