People "must learn to conserve their energy."[1]

"You must be able to conserve your efforts. Your body must be able to act upon the incentive of the mind."[2]

"Any courageous course of action to redirect your focus and your energy always must be based upon an inner and pressing need."[3]

"In your preparation, you must minimize expenses as much as possible, even if you are affluent. You are going to need these resources in the future. Your pleasures and activities should be simple, for you will need to preserve your energy and your resources now."[4]

"You must be very conscientious about what you eat.
You must be conscientious about sexual engagements.
You must be very conscientious about where you take your body and how you expose it to the environment.
It will take less energy to maintain health than it does to damage your body.
If your lifestyle is based upon neglect, then it is hard for you to realize how much energy you are putting into your neglect."[5]

"Everyone must take responsibility in how they live, in how they think, in what they do, in the decisions before them today, and in the decisions that they will have to face in the future. Everyone, particularly those of the wealthy nations, will have to reconsider where they live, how they live, what kind of employment they have, how they make a living, how they use the resources of the world, how they use energy—all of these things. It is certainly not a time to be ambivalent or complacent."[6]

"If humanity were well versed in the affairs of life in your local Universe, you would be ending war today. You would be preserving resources today. You would be rationing energy today."[7]

"Focus on those who can respond and not on those who cannot respond. Give to those who can receive the gift and share it with others. Encourage those who are responding instead of trying to persuade those who cannot or will not respond. Gather around you those who are strong and who see the need to become strong. Do not spend time and energy trying to persuade someone who cannot or will not respond. That will only waste your vitality, which must be brought to bear now."[8]

Our inherent interest in energy sustainability

"You have an inherent interest, then, in maintaining and sustaining your world’s fundamental resources and in regenerating these resources successfully. Without this, the Collectives will have a great advantage in their inducements. Without this, even if you resisted the Collectives, eventually you would need what they have to offer—raw materials, energy, food production, advanced technology."[9]

"You must look at your world as your storehouse for food, water and energy and for all the things that you will need both now and in the future. If you exhaust these, you will decline, undoing all of the progress that you have made."

Holding back to conserve energy within

"The wise person must exercise discretion at all times. Here there will be feelings of loneliness and exclusion because the wise cannot express the depth of their experience effectively to many people. They must hold their experience within themselves and let it grow there. This generates focus and energy, which is power. It also develops respect for other people’s experience and position in life and respect for one’s own experience and position as well."[10]

"You do not need to explain everything, to give a myriad of examples and to talk until there is nothing left to say. Let people spend time with what you have said rather than trying to make it totally palatable to them. If you feel the need to express something, but the opportunity is not there or the right people are not there, then hold this within yourself. Let the fires burn hotter within you. It is all right to have this pressure. Hold this energy. It is like sex. Some people think that whenever they feel sexual, they must go out and have sex immediately to relieve themselves. This is madness. Think about this, and you will see that it is madness."[10]
